Define Clash Tests

General Information:

Discipline: Common

Developed by: VirtualProjects

Brief:

Instead of defining Autodesk® Navisworks® clash tests manually, one by one, this app automatically defines Navisworks clash tests from a Clash Matrix file.

A clash Matrix Excel file should be a part of your company's standards and should be utilized for your projects.

If two test names in the Excel file match the defined Navisworks search set names, it creates a clash test for you. You can define the clash tolerance by editing the value between a column and a row in the Excel template file provided with the app.

Installation:

After downloading the app from the Autodesk App Store, uninstall previous version of the app, and double-click on the 'Navisworks-Define_Clash_Tests.msi' file to install the app.

You need to sign in with A360 account (from the information center) the first time you run the Add-In to make sure you are allowed to use it.

Installation files and included templates are in:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\CreateClashTests.bundle\Contents\[Version]\

Uninstall:

To uninstall this plug-in, exit the Autodesk product if you are currently running it, click Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features (Windows 7/8.1/10) and uninstall Define Clash Tests, as you would any other application from your system.

Sequence:

1.        (Optional) Edit the Navisworks Clash Matrix excel file template from the following path:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\CreateClashTests.bundle\Contents\[Version]\Navisworks Clash Matrix\02. Clash Detection Matrix-S2-P02.xlsx

2.        Make sure the Search set names in Navisworks match the Test Names in the excel file and that the connecting cell has “Test Name” written in it

3.        The tolerance is written in the intersecting cell between two search set names in the excel file

4.        Define the clash test type in the tolerance cell, Nothing = Hard, H = Hard, HC = Hard (Conservative), C = Clearance, and D = Duplicates

5.        Run the Add-In

6.        Browse for the Excel or CSV Clash Matrix file, choose your settings, press “Start”

Considerations:

·          If the tolerance is not written in the excel file, no clash test will be created

Options:

·          Edit the Separator from the form, the plugin will add a space before and after the separator

·          Check Auto Number Clashes, to number each clash test

Licensing:

·          You need to sign in to A360 (from the information center) the first time you run the Add-In to make sure you are allowed to use it
